About Us

We are a ballroom and Latin dancing society for all abilities (beginner, intermediate and advanced), learning routines such as Cha-cha, Waltz and Jive. We are open to both students and non-students.

As part of our society, you will have the option to take exams to gain qualifications in dancing, perform on stage, and in addition, we are hoping to pull together a competition team to compete later in the year. Or you can simply come to our regular classes to meet new people and have fun, boogying the night away! Our regular classes are taught by our qualified dance teacher Wendy Hollands-Moon, and some of our very own experienced committee members.

Events

01

Regular performances

We regularly perform in two showcases per academic year. One in first term and one in second. Our showcase performances are for all abilities and for current and new members.

04

Competitions

With enough interest, we hope to form a competition team. This will include society members travelling across the country to represent Falmouth university on the competitive team.

The competition circuit is open to all levels, right from beginners to advanced.

02

Weekly classes

Our weekly classes run every Tuesday between 7PM-9PM. We have three classes for different abilities, Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced.

We are an open club with both student and non student members and we aim to be as inclusive as possible.

05

Socials

Socials are a way where we get together as a society and have some fun. We strive to have socials for everyone with recent socials being games nights, Christmas parties, fancy dress, murder mystery nights and competition evenings.

Exams

Throughout the year, there will also be chances to complete dance exams with the UKA dance association.

Exams are a good way to show off your routines and be marked by a professional in the ballroom and Latin world.
